There is no better space shooter out there in the void. Freespace 2 is the one game that put down the foundation for space shooters. It was the metric for all future games.
I loved this game a lot, but I never managed to play it trough. I was able to get to mission 12 or something like that.
When I met Sathanas, the big juggernaut ship, I was so fascinated that I just flew around it instead of shooting it. I tried many times to do that mission, but I was not able. So I did not finish the game.
The game is very action-packed and even today there are people who are patching it and trying to bring it up to the expectations of today’s gamers.
The graphics are exceptional, I loved it so much. Since this was my first space shooter game, I was amazed by the richness of the graphics. Even today, the graphics are enjoyable and the soundtrack and story just make it even better. I recommend starting your space shooter career with this game.
